CAROL program

• With a java capable browser the program CAROL, that performs the matching algorithms that have been developed in this project, can be started as an applet. The applet is still under construction and will work only if a corresponding server program is running which is not always the case during the development phase. So please be patient if it won't work and try another time.
  
• The Heart-2D Page is a database of protein gel images from the human heart
  
• The ExPASy Molecular Biology Server offers the commercial gel matching program Melanie.
  
• The technique of the 2D-gel electrophoresis is explained at the Large Scale Biology Corporation. There are also online gel images as protein maps, some literature references and a commercial program package for the analysis of gel images.
  
• The NCI Laboratory of Mathematical Biology offers the NCI Flicker Web Server where gel images on the internet can be compared. Some gelmatching links as well as a description of a commercial software package can be found on this page. Attention: These pages are quite slow.
